Weaving the fabric

Juko designs is a collaboration between Samina Begum and Janet Toms. Combining their different cultural heritages has resulted in a collection of exciting woven fabrics reflecting Samina's love of repeated patterns and the strong bright colours found in Islamic art and Janets love of modern architecture and the muted colours of the Yorkshire moors.
The fabrics are woven at our studio in Huddersfield to our own exclusive designs.
We source mainly end of line yarns which limits the amount of fabric we can weave in any one pattern or colourway.
This means that we are only usually able to make between 2 and 15 bags in each colourway. By combining this fabric with different linings, edgings, buttons and cords virtually every bag is unique.
